What we collect
If you sign up for the newsletter, we collect your email address (and your first name, if you choose to give it). That is it. If you do not sign up, you can read every page of this site without handing over a single detail about yourself.
We also look at basic, anonymous traffic numbers (things like how many people visited a page) through our hosting provider. These are aggregate counts. They do not identify you and are not used to track you around the web.
We do not sell your information
We will never sell, rent, or trade your email address or any other personal information. Your inbox is yours. We use your email for one purpose: to send you Jill’s newsletter, including the free prequel story and news about upcoming books.
Third-party tools
Like most websites, we rely on a few trusted services to run things. Each has its own privacy policy:
- MailerLite manages our newsletter and stores the email addresses of subscribers so we can send those letters.
- Cloudflare helps host and deliver this site and provides the privacy-friendly, anonymous traffic counts mentioned above.
- Retailer links (such as Amazon) take you to a third-party store to buy or pre-order a book. Once you leave this site, that store’s own privacy policy applies.
Your choices
Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can use it anytime, no questions asked. If you would rather we remove your information directly, just email us and we will take care of it.
Children
This site is meant for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we update how we handle your information, we will revise this page and change the date at the top. Nothing dramatic; we will just keep it current.
